Levels

A quick recap on levels and course content.

The main course content is here, and you’re currently in L3.

Following are the physical tests required for L3 and other levels if you are enrolled in any higher levels.

L3 Trainer

Test: 10 minutes full snatch with a suitable weight
Completion limit: 3 months but you can request a 2-month extension upon enrollment if you start the course with absolutely no previous experience

If you are enrolled in higher levels, you will receive a certificate for each level that you complete. If you are only enrolled in the L3 then you can skip the rest of the information on this page.

L4 Teacher

Test: 5 minutes double kettlebell half snatch with a suitable weight
Write a 400 to 600-word essay
Completion limit: 5 months

L5 Athlete

Test: Completion of the CTCF100 Challenge
Additional requirements: L3 10-minute snatch test to be performed with a 20kg/44lb for males and 16kg/35lb for females. L4 5-minute double kettlebell snatch test to be performed with 2 × 16kg/35lb for males and 2 × 12kg/26lb for females. The CTCF100 Challenge is to be completed with a 24kg/53lb kettlebell for males, and with a 20kg/44lb for females. Over 50 years of age will have the option of using 4kg/9lb less on all tests, and 8kg/18lb less for over 60s.
Completion limit: 6 months

For L3 and L4 the weights are higher when you’re doing L5, however, to pass the L4 and L5 you can stick to the weight requirements for those levels. It does mean that you need to redo them when you get to L5. The choice is yours, if you do the L3 and L4 tests straight away with the L5 weight requirement then you can use those submissions for the L5 as well.

L6 Coach

Test: Requires the filming of a coaching session, program, and workout design
Completion limit: 8 months

You need to find a student to teach and film the session. Your task is to run them through the progressions, so even if they know how to snatch, you will start teaching them from scratch. It is preferred that your student has some kettlebell experience so that you can run through the progression quickly, i.e. all up within 30 minutes.

You need to create a 12-week program for a beginner with a focus on learning snatch technique and increasing reps. The second program needs to be focused on increasing power with an 8-week program. The third program needs to be focussed on working up to a full 10-minute one-switch snatch set with a 12-week program.

You need to create one workout focused on power and one on cardio. The workout needs to have the snatch included as the main focus but can have some other kettlebell exercises too.

Completion Requirement

Each level requires you to complete the previous level before you can access it, therefore we do recommend that you keep the completion limits in mind.

Even though you can’t access these higher levels yet for submission, upon enrollment you should immediately start thinking, training, and preparing for the tests to come.
