Optional, if you have the time: follow-along prep work 8 min. Otherwise, just do the workout.
Workout as written. Double kettlebell, 10 minutes for every task. You can only pick two sets of kettlebells of equal weight and you have to stick to that — you use that for your squats and you use it for your presses. You can also use one kettlebell of that, it's all good.
★ Includes exercise summaries and coaching notes
Task 1 — Squat

Task 2 — Strict Press

This is pretty much a full body workout: lower body for 10 minutes, then upper body for 10 minutes. With the squat you're working your legs actively, and your core as well, your traps, your erector spinae. With the press you're using the triceps, the shoulders, the delts, you're stabilizing with the biceps, everything around your scapula, even your chest. How tough this gets is up to the weight you pick and the rest you take — you can always put it down, and you can take a breather. If you can't press it strict anymore, you are fatigued: rest, or go down with your weight. And don't program this and then do another full body workout — that's very taxing the next day. With this you would probably do a day's rest.
Session flow
The full workout from start to finish — each colour shows effort level at that moment.
Which muscle groups this workout targets most.
Both tasks together engage the entire kinetic chain — the squat works everything from the glutes through the core and traps, while the press drives the shoulders, triceps, and upper back.
The 10-minute racked squat block places sustained demand on the quads, requiring full knee flexion below parallel on every rep.
The strict press isolates shoulder work — no leg drive allowed — and 10 minutes of maximal loading will leave the deltoids significantly fatigued.
Below-parallel squats with double kettlebell rack loading engage the glutes through a deep range of hip flexion and extension on every rep.
The strict press is a triceps-dominant finishing movement — locking out overhead on every rep engages the triceps significantly over a 10-minute period.
Both tasks demand sustained heavy loading. Moving maximum weight across 10-minute blocks builds considerable lower and upper body strength.
Ten consecutive minutes of squatting and ten of pressing under load is a significant endurance challenge requiring both muscular and cardiovascular stamina.
The squat task in particular is cardiovascular — the coach notes that cardio was the limiting factor during squats, not muscular fatigue.
RAGE demands smart decision-making under fatigue — knowing when to rest, when to push, and sticking to your chosen weights when the ego says go heavier.
