Single Arm Strict Shoulder Press

Quick Answer

A single-arm kettlebell shoulder press, pressed strict — the shoulder and elbow alone move the bell from rack to overhead, with no leg or back help. It builds honest one-arm pressing strength, plus an anti-lean core demand from the offset load.

Feels Like

A steady strength grind: brace the rack, press straight to lockout, then control the lower back to rack — while your opposite-side waist works to keep you from tipping toward the bell.

Intent Shift

By default the press up is the main work and the lower is a controlled return. A slow lowering shifts it toward size and tendon strength; a pause overhead adds a shoulder isometric; a pause in the rack trains pressing from a dead stop.
