🔥 Why I Prefer Rogue Powder Coat Kettlebells Over Competition Kettlebells
I’ve trained with kettlebells for a long time, and for the way I train, I personally prefer Rogue Powder Coat kettlebells over competition bells.
Competition kettlebells are excellent for kettlebell sport and long-duration sets, but that’s not my main goal.
I train for strength, muscle, power, conditioning — and aesthetics. Looking strong and athletic is just as important to me as performing well. 💪
That’s why I want kettlebells that allow me to combine traditional kettlebell movements with hypertrophy-oriented training.
🦾 The handle is one of the biggest advantages for me.
Across my main Rogue range from 16 kg to 40 kg, the handles are standardized at around 38 mm in diameter, with a consistent handle width. Whether I grab 16, 24, 32 or 40 kg, the grip remains familiar.
Competition handles are generally thinner, which is great for conserving grip during very long sport sets. But I actually prefer the thicker Rogue handle. It fills my hands better and makes my grip and forearms work harder during heavy swings, cleans, rows and carries.
🔥 I also prefer the classic, more compact kettlebell shape.
It gives me much more freedom to mix traditional kettlebell training with exercises aimed specifically at building muscle and improving physique.
I can train:
💪 Clean & Press
🦵 Double Front Squats
🔥 Swings & Snatches
🦾 Rows & Heavy Carries
🏋️ Floor Presses
💥 Curls & Triceps Work
⚡ Complexes & EMOMs
💨 HIIT & Conditioning
That means I don’t have to choose between being strong, conditioned or looking good.
I can train performance and aesthetics at the same time.
The powder coat is another reason I like them. It gives me a secure, natural grip without feeling overly smooth or slippery, whether I’m doing heavy strength work or fast ballistic movements.
Competition kettlebells are specialized tools and they are fantastic for what they were designed for.
But I’m not training exclusively for kettlebell sport.
My goal is to build muscle, stay lean, look athletic, get stronger, develop explosive power and maintain serious conditioning.
For that combination, Rogue Powder Coat kettlebells simply fit my training better.
Strength. Muscle. Power. Conditioning. Aesthetics. 🔥
That’s what I want from my kettlebells.
Good read. Thanks for posting. I would like to point out that Competition Kettlebells are used in Kettlebell Sport, but that means nothing in regard to whether they can be used for other things. Compe...
