Solution
Practice regripping with the assisted dead clean drill (see video) until you understand the grip transition. Transition from hook grip to loose grip.
Description
During the clean or snatch a grip transition needs to take place from hook into loose grip. When this does not happen, the press-out is usually also missing and this results in the banging of the bell on the forearm as the bell flips over the fist.
If this happens during the snatch then that means you have not spent time mastering the clean as any issue that exists in the clean transfers to the snatch.
The grip transition in both the clean and snatch can only take place once the kettlebell enters its ballistic flight, which means that you powered the movement such that it keeps going and you can let go to transition your grip and perform a hand insertion.
